Holiday fun can be child's play Kids have their own gear, the kind of things that keep them happily occupied, no matter where they are, and on holiday it can be just as important to make sure their “special stuff” from toys to sports equipment goes along with them.
Kids going on a recreational vehicle (RV) holiday with their parents or grandparents are even more likely to want to bring along their own gear, as the outdoor lifestyle that caravan parks and free camping offer ensures that they have room to bring out their gear and use it, be it a bike to get around the park, their surfboard, body board, kayak or fishing tackle.
Jayco realizes there is great demand on valuable storage space inside a motorhome, caravan or camper trailer and have are come up with a number of own storage solutions to ensure the kids stuff as well as mum and dad’s gear can all be taken along.
Jayco offer different types of bike racks, some fit on the rear of the RV while others are especially designed to sit on the roof of the low towing profiled camper trailers.
Special boat racks are also gaining in popularity to allow the carriage of surf boards, kayaks and even dinghies. Then there are luggage pods that also can be clipped on to special roof racks designed for camper trailers.
According to Grant Sizer, Sales Manager for Prestige Jayco Geelong, as more families turn to RV ownership as their preferred holiday of choice, the RV industry has responded by offering more family-related “kid-friendly” features.
“If the kids are happy, then mum and dad are happy; and often as kids go away with their grandparents, then the same obviously applies,” says Grant.
“Modern RVs are designed to replicate the kind of fixtures and fittings you find at home. Modern stoves, microwaves, flat-screened TVs with DVD player, fridges and the like. That’s essential for easy holiday living, but we also understand that the holiday environment of a caravan park offers outdoor living options. That’s why additional storage systems are important so family holiday gear can be taken along,” Grant says.
As each caravan park is different because of its setting, whether by a beach, lake, in some secluded valley or nestled in a small country town, different holiday gear can make the holiday experience all the more enjoyable.
It’s a good idea to always check well in advance about the park facilities on offer and encourage the kids to bring the kind of equipment that will ensure they get the most out of their holiday, and that means parents will too.
